Lindsay Ahlgren-Blythe, Garcia High School Principal
As an undergraduate Spanish student, Lindsay Ahlgren-Blythe’s interest in education began when she taught ESL to adults for a service learning project. “I realized my passion for providing educational opportunities to traditionally underserved communities,” she explained. Later, Ms. Ahlgren-Blythe started her career as a Spanish teacher in Connecticut through Teach For America, serving both district and charter school sectors. After moving back to the Midwest in 2012, she became the founding Spanish teacher at Johnson College Prep, rising to 12th Grade Level Lead, Summer School Principal and Dean of Instruction before completing the Ryan Fellowship and stepping into the Principal role at Garcia. “I have spent my career working to ensure that an excellent education is a right for all students,” said Ms. Ahlgren-Blythe. She looks forward to an exciting year of learning and growth at Garcia.
